One-Owner SS
Our #ride of the week for this week is a new Car Show Life Custom. Ken Mack of Chesterfield, OH came to us for a show board for his 1970 Chevelle SS that he's owned since new!
I love it when an owner comes to me with a car they've been able to hold on to for years and years. I'm envious of their tenacity to retain a car for so long, while I've had to give mine up. Still miss ya, "Son-Of-Ol'-Blue"!
Ken still has a lot of the paperwork for this LS6 equipped Chevelle, including the warranty brochure and Protect-O-plate, in his name and dated July 29, 1970. But, the car took a number of years to reach its current state of restoration.
Ken worked on it for the better part of three decades, between 1986 and 2013, enlisting the assistance of Frankie & Dylan's of Mentor, OH for bodywork and paint.
Today, it's back to its original glory and features its LS6 454, bored out to .30th" and outfitted with a Holley 800 cfm carb yielding 450 HP. It's backed by a Turbo 400 automatic and 12-bolt posi rear axle with 3.55 gears.
