AS IS, NO WARRANTY
When I’m doing participant voting at a charity car show, I try to find a unique car that stands out from the crowd. So, in a sea of muscle cars and Corvettes, my attention drifted to this street rod. It’s a 1939 Ford Sedan owned by Rick Horning of Randolph, OH. He bought it as-is as he remarked “at 68, my building days are over”.
When I asked what drew him to the car, he said, “ I was looking for something unique and I really like ‘30s sedans and it had about 95% of what I wanted, with the exception of EFI.” As for what it does have, it is pretty much the standard hot rod fare: Chevy 350 crate motor backed by a 700r4 and a Ford 9” rear. Mustang II front suspension adorns the custom chassis with Boss Motorsports wheels on the corners. House of Kolor Green with PPG tricoat black cover the fiberglass Coast 2 Coast Ford Sedan body.
While equipped with a/c, heat, power steering, and power disc brakes, there is no infotainment system. “I never really listened to the radio.” Sounds like a car guy who just enjoys the sound of an 8 cylinder symphony while out for a cruise!
